One of my neighbors apparently does not believe in evolution. Recently he told me that the Neanderthals are a myth invented by unbelieving atheistic [oxymoronic] scientists. That humans have always existed and then that humans have only been on earth since the Old Testament: carbon dating; "A crock of..."

He proposed that Neanderthals were, in fact, simply very old humans like some of those ancients described in the Bible who lived for hundreds of years. To this day Neanderthals walk amongst us and in nursing homes? This fellow asserts that as one ages the forehead bulge continues to grow and a person eventually becomes so stooped that their arms nearly drag on the ground = thus what was misidentified by overzealous pagan scientists as a different human species: The Neanderthal: No! just a very, very old multi-centenarian standard human being!
